Perfect Hybrid = More Road + Less Mountain
(Note: Review based on my 2012 Insight 2...2013 is same specs & components, different color.)
For the past 7 years, I've primarily used my mountain bike for road use...slowly upgrading with Vuelta wheels, narrower tires, etc. Every time I seriously considered making the jump to a hybrid; I came away unimpressed with just how little they differed from mountain bikes. Most firms seemed to simply take their cheap, old-school mountain bike frames (steel or aluminum)...add either a useless suspension fork or solid steel fork...and toss on 700c rims. Result being heavy bikes with cheap components and poor geometry. (Summary: Most hybrids tend to be basically cheap, heavy mountain bikes with larger wheels.)

Light-weight hybrid
I already own a relatively heavy mountain bike which I don't enjoy carrying around. And a light-weight folding Citizen bike which is great for short distances. I was looking for a light-weight hybrid for long distances. I realized that many of those performance hybrid bikes around are as heavy as my mountain bike. This bike is closest I could find that is significantly lighter than a mountain bike. Pretty close to a road bike. But comes with flat handle-bars and simple plastic pedals (which i prefer to metal ones). It feels great on the road. I put the thing together in 15 minutes, except the connections to breaks and shifters. My bike mechanic got those. Only minus thing is the saddle which is pretty useless. I changed it to WTB Speed V and here we go!
Good ride
Bike is as advertised. Rides well and is comfy. I needed a few adjustments once I got it put it together. Arrived in a good condition.
Excellent bike for the cost
